The Christian Teaching degree does not lead directly to certification. Boise Bible encourages and prepares students to become certified through alternative routes.
Route #1: Obtain a Bachelor’s in Science in Christian Teaching, then apply to a Master’s in Teaching or Masters in Education program from a graduate program in the state you wish to teach. Generally, graduate degree programs accept any Bachelor’s degrees from any college. However, we’ve found students have more success when attending another Christian college or university. We’ve had students attend M.A.T and M.Ed. programs at George Fox University, Northwest Nazarene University, Johnson University, and many others.
Route #2: Obtain a Bachelor’s in Science in Christian Teaching at Boise Bible College and complete a Passport to Teaching Program through American Board. As of July 2020 this path can lead to certification in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin. Some students begin their American Board journey their junior or senior year while others wait until after graduation, but the journey is different based on the state.

"This program was consistent with my Master’s program, but the best preparation I gained at BBC was a paradigm that looks at the work in the classroom as a mission, and an opportunity to be Jesus to students. Boise Bible College instilled a love for the art of teaching, but even more so, it instilled a love for molding humans, which at the end of the day supersedes."

All 4- and 2-year degrees at Boise Bible College are built around three components: General Education, Bible Major, Ministry Program.
It is necessary to fulfill all requirements in each of these components in order to successfully complete the degree. Each component, and each course, plays a role in your overall development as a person of influence.
